Creating Impact Through Dietetics
Nicole Fetterly, a graduate of the UBC Dietetics program, has pursued a career path that highlights the diverse opportunities available in the field of nutrition. She started as a dietitian working in surgery and acute care and further explored other opportunities still related to nutrition She was able to learn more about the production of local BC products, developed menus to improve access of healthy food, taught nutrition to different audiences in different scales, and even develop resources such as a guidebook and even writing her own book!
This allowed Nikki to use what she learned from the Dietetics program while also doing what she is passionate about. As she gained numerous valuable insights form the various experiences she partook in, she was also able to gain awards from her dedication to her craft.

LFS Where I Connected my Passion for Food Systems and Research
Parisa’s love for food drove her decision to join the Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS). As she explored the various programs within LFS, she discovered the Global Resources System (GRS) Program which perfectly aligned with her interests in global food and health systems.
As Parisa reflected on her time in LFS, she shared how it shaped her decision to pursue a career in research post-graduation. She also provided tips and tricks on how to maximize your university experience, emphasizing the importance of networking and utilizing the resources.
