UBC’s Work Learn program gives you the chance to apply for jobs on campus that are focused on research. Gain valuable lab and field experience while working alongside faculty members and graduate students.

You can create your own LFS research project and gain credit at the same time. Options include practicums, directed studies, undergraduate theses and career development internships.

Take your studies and research energy into the real word with a co-op placement at an external organization. You’ll learn how to apply your knowledge and rigorously search for solutions to pressing questions.

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) runs the Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) program. These competitive awards provide funding for students to conduct mentor-supervised research.

For international undergraduate students interested in research, these awards subsidize professors to hire them for full-time work on their research projects in the Summer Session (May to August).
