Mentors

Share your story and make a meaningful impact on the career journeys of LFS undergraduate students by volunteering as a mentor.  Our global mentorship program gives you the opportunity to connect with students about careers and networking.

Why be a mentor?

Whether you are in a current professional role, retired, or looking for that new career path, sharing your experience will empower our students to communicate more confidently with working professionals.

Our program offers flexibility and accessibility, recognizing that peoples’ lives are busy. Additionally, you will have a chance to receive professional support such as, career development webinars and CliftonStrengths assessments to enhance your mentoring experience.

We believe that your expertise has the power to unlock hidden potential, ignite passions and guide our mentees toward both academic and career success!

The LFS Mentorship Program provides mentors with the opportunities to:

  • Shape the future of young professionals while learning from the knowledge and strengths they bring;
  • Hone your coaching and mentoring skills for your own professional development;
  • Embrace an open mindset, connecting and learning from individuals with diverse backgrounds and career aspirations; and
  • Connect with alumni, industry and business communities to expand your network and make new friends: attend a wide variety of UBC in-person and virtual events and join online communities.

Our mentorship program is an unrivalled opportunity for you to give back. Keen to be a role model and help shape the future of our growing community? Read more about the expectations for the program.

Applications open July 2024 for the 2024-2025 Program.
