Our Faculty is committed to teaching students to become critical thinkers, life-long learners and effective communicators. Through student-centred learning, our students are encouraged to direct their own education and bring classroom theories to life through problem-based learning (PBL), Web CT, case studies, practical experience, and independent work.
Through a uniquely integrated and interdisciplinary approach, you will spend your first term learning with students from all of the Facultys 12 degree areas and concentrations getting to know each other and building a sense of student community that will last until you graduate. Equally, the range of interdisciplinary experience that your professors bring to each class further enhances the diversity of knowledge you will take away with you. And this knowledge better prepares you for real-world experience and career opportunities available through the Facultys Career Development area.
Currently, the Faculty offers 12 majors and concentrations under the following three degrees:
Through the undergraduate Global Resource Systems program and the UBC Student Exchange Program students have the opportunity to study in the context of a world region. By studying internationally, students gain a uniquely integrated and interdisciplinary approach to the complex issues faced by local and global communities.
