This major is specifically intended for students interested in basic human and animal nutritional sciences. It provides opportunities for students to integrate nutrition with their interests in other areas such as health and science, and prepares students to continue their education at Masters and Ph.D levels, to pursue a career in nutrition and/or health research, and in research- and development-related industries, or to further their studies in health professions such as naturopathy, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, rehabilitation sciences, or veterinary medicine.
Pre Vet
Pre-veterinary medicine students can select courses to meet application requirements by enrolling in the Nutritional Sciences major. Students are strongly advised to consult with the admission requirements for the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. The competition for admission to the four-year veterinary program is strong and few applicants are admitted with less than three years of university coursework.
