"The Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS) hosts the Soil, Water and Air Laboratory (SWAL) – a core analytical facility in the MacMillan Building that features state-of-the-art equipment for analyses of soil, water and air. SWAL is a focal point for collaborative research between scientists and students from a diverse array of academic units on campus – Science, Arts, Forestry, Interdisciplinary Studies, and LFS. I envision SWAL fostering the collegiality and information exchange that expands UBC's position as a world leader on issues of sustainability."
