Heather graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BSc in Human Ecology (Food and Nutrition) in 1999. She moved to Vancouver to pursue a Master's degree in Human Nutrition at UBC and graduated in 2002. She completed her internship in 2002. Heather has worked as a dietitian at several hospitals in the lower mainland, and has taken on many unique positions, including developing the role of nutrition in the CHIUS clinic and working as a research consultant. She has been a mentor for more than 12 nutrition students in the past 6 years, and has been involved with formal and informal work experience / mentorship programs. She has an interest in interdisciplinary development, and has worked with students from a variety of health disciplines. Heather enjoys mentorship and time spent with students; her current practice focuses on health care administration and practice support, including coaching and education for staff members in a variety of work areas. Currently, she is the practice coordinator at Vancouver General Hospital.
