Degree Requirements - Integrated Studies in Land and Food Systems (M.Sc., Ph.D.)
Master of Science
The M.Sc. program requirements are as follows:
18 credits of coursework (limit of 6 credits for 300 and 400 level). Required courses: LFS 500 (Graduate Seminar), LFS 501 (Approaches to the Integration of knowledge), LFS 549 (MSc Thesis).
Candidates for the M.Sc. degree must submit a research thesis for 12 credits (under the direction of the research supervisor and an appointed supervisory committee)
Doctor of Philosophy
The Ph.D. program requirements are as follows:
Required courses:
LFS 500 (Graduate Seminar),
LFS 501 (Approaches to the Integration of knowledge),
Enter Candidacy:
The basic requirements for a doctoral student to be admitted to candidacy are:
all required coursework has been successfully completed
the comprehensive examination has been passed
the supervisory committee has certified that the thesis proposal has been approved.
Students are expected to complete their comprehensive examination within 24 months from the date of initial registration. A student who is not admitted to candidacy within 36 months from date of initial registration must withdraw from the program.
Candidates for the PhD degree must submit a Doctoral Dissertation (under the direction of the research supervisor and an appointed supervisory committee)
