Vikram Vij’s Cooking Class with Alumni and Students

Win one of 7 spots to join a cooking class led by Vikram Vij!

  • Grand Prize (1): Be Vikram’s Sous Chef for the Day…will look great on your resume.
  • Secondary Prizes (6): Attend the Cooking Class with Alumni to learn to make two dishes.

LFS students have the chance to partake in a cooking class with Vikram Vij and LFS Alumni. The cooking class, in UBC Vij’s Kitchen on our Vancouver campus, will be followed by a family-style dinner of an appetizer and a main course, cooked by the alumni and students, and a surprise dessert. After presentations from Dean Rickey Yada, Dr. Murray Isman, Interim Director of the Wine Research Centre and Chef Vikram Vij, there will be time for a Q & A session with Vikram and a tour of UBC Wine Library.

For students who do not receive a spot, a blog with photos, videos, and recipes will be available post-event. Photos will be posted on 100 Dinners section of the alumni UBC website.

The contest is now closed. Winners will be contacted soon.

*Note: this opportunity is only available to LFS Students that are over the age of 19. Priority will be given to those with prior cooking experience and Food Safe certification, especially for the Sous Chef position, who will play an integral role in the evening (required from 3pm for prepping, finishing around 10:00pm). However, we encourage all students of all skill levels from any program to apply, as Vikram will be teaching skills throughout the evening!
