Land and Water British Columbia Inc. (LWBC) is a Crown corporation responsible for allocating and marketing Crown land and water resources. Crown land is the term used for 92% of the province that is publicly owned. The work of LWBC is governed under two Acts; the Land Act and the Water Act.

Established in 1998, this agency of the provincial government handles up to 80 per cent of the province's land mass. Currently, LWBC manages over 30,000 Crown land tenures that range from grazing rights to commercial ski resorts, and every year government receives thousands of applications for renewals and new tenures.

Harry Gill
Land and Water Licensed Officer

Harry has worked with the BC Provincial Government for the past 10 years. He is currently working as a Land and Water Licensed Officer. His work in the department has included: managing tenure applications for optimum allocation of Crown Land, negotiating with referral agencies, First Nations, & other stakeholders over proposed land use and conducting field investigations. He has also worked as a GIS Analyst with the Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management and the Ministry of Forests providing support to Land and Resource Management Planning, Sustainable Resource Management Planning and the Timber Supply Review. He is a member of the B.C. Institute of Agrologists and of the Planning Institute of British Columbia. Harry holds a Bachelors degree in Geography from Simon Fraser University.
