Career Fair Organizers:

The Life Sciences & Land and Food Systems Career Fair has been organized through the collaborative efforts of the following partners.

Faculties and Departments

  • Faculty of Land and Food Systems - Community Partnerships Team
The Community Partnerships Team is one of the conduits to connect students to the community. Our mandate is to forge partnerships with professionals, alumni and community members interested in being mentors, field trip hosts, teachers and supervisors to our undergraduate students. It is our goal to support students and alumni with personal career development.

  • Faculty of Science - Science Advising
Knowledgeable staff help Science students achieve the most from their undergraduate years. Services include drop-in advising, booked appointments, informative e-mails, and a variety of workshops on academic, research, career, and leadership/involvement topics. Combine a visit to Science Advising with regular contact with your program advisor to ensure success.

  • Faculty of Science Co-op Programs
Co-op is the integration of academic studies with relevant, paid work experience. UBC Science Co-op provides employers access to UBC’s best and brightest students, while students gain practical, career-related experience.

  • UBC Career Services
UBC Career Services is your on-campus resource to help you successfully transition from university to the world of work. Whether you’re still working on your degree or approaching graduation, we have on-line curriculum, in-class workshops, and face-to-face appointments to address your job or career concerns.

Student Societies

  • Agriculture Undergraduate Society (AgUS)
We represent the students in the LFS faculty by creating and organizing exciting events as well as making many decisions for the students now and for the future faculty. Some of the events we run are our weekly BBQ’s for the faculty and faculty members, Beer Gardens, Community Dinners and AGGIE week.

  • Biological Sciences Society of UBC
BIOSOC is a student run organization that has been continuously growing for the past decade. What started as a small group of students that wanted to hold social events has become one of the largest science societies on campus. We always strive to provide resources to students in all years of their undergraduate that will further their education and career paths, while holding social events that will allow both students and staff a chance to meet outside a classroom setting.

  • Microbiology and Immunology Student Association
A diverse group of students dedicated to helping students in or interested in the Microbiology & Immunology Program. MISA strives to balance academic success with social events and community involvement, as well as broadening students’ global perspectives.

  • Science Undergraduate Society
SUS is a constituency which represents all UBC Science Students. Whether it be liaising with the Dean, planning events or getting science students involved, SUS always strives to create a better community at UBC. Having just moved into a brand new three story building, the Abdul Ladha Science Student Centre, which was made possible through funding from Abdul Ladha, science students, UBC and the Science Dean’s office, SUS is taking steps to find new ways to ensure science students play an important and informed role in the development and education at their university.
