B.Sc., Applied Biology (includes Applied Animal Biology, Applied Plant & Soil Sciences, Food & the Environment)
Grade 12 courses and requirements Grade 11 courses and requirements
  • English 12 or English 12 First Peoples
  • Principles of Mathematics 12 or Pre-Calculus 12
  • One of Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Geology 12, or Physics 12
  • One other approved Grade 12 course [3]
  • English 11 plus a language 11
  • Mathematics 11 [1]
  • Two of Biology 11, Chemistry 11, or Physics 11 [2]
  • An approved Social Studies course

[1] Principles of Mathematics 11, Pre-Calculus 11, or Foundations of Mathematics 12[2] The Faculty of Land and Food Systems recommends Physics 11 as it is required for some majors for the Applied Biology degree and the Food, Nutrition, and Health degree.[3] Information on "Approved Grade 12 courses" can be found on the UBC Admissions Website.
